Are MOST products tested on animals?

Absolutely NO because:

• European and Italian law has prohibited animal tests on finished cosmetic products since 2004;
• Since March 2009, testing on animals for cosmetic purposes has been banned throughout Europe: no animals are used anymore to carry out safety tests on cosmetic ingredients.
• From the same date it is forbidden to sell cosmetic products in Europe that contain ingredients tested on animals, outside the European Community, after March 2009. This ban excludes only some very complex long-term toxicity studies, which address the highest health risks.
• From 11 March 2013, a total ban on animal testing of ingredients made for cosmetic products came into force in Europe.
